Linda Kessinger, the senior NCO of HRC’s Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, and HRC Command Sgt. Maj. Wardell Jefferson cut a ceremonial cake as part of the Fort Knox, Ky., Hispanic Heritage observance Sept. 18. Kessinger related her personal story of growing up as the eldest of six children in a Mexican-American family in Seguin, Texas, and her journey as a Soldier, describing a life in which dedication to family, God and hard work set her on a path that led from adversity to personal fulfillment.
