Staff Sgt. Kyle McKee, a medic with 3rd Engineer Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, and Pvt. Terrance Allen, a medic from 104th Engineer Company, 62nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, carefully lift a simulated casualty with a suspected neck injury out of a Humvee and onto a spine board in order to keep him immobilized for transport Sept. 15 at Fort Hood, Texas during the EFMB testing. More than 240 candidates were tested in land navigation, radio skills, maneuvering through an obstacle course and completing a 12-mile road march in under three hours to earn the coveted badge.
