Leonardo's father, UH-60 Black Hawk pilot Chief Warrant Officer 2 Cory Lagusker, deployed from Los Alamitos that day, first for training at Fort Hood, Texas, then a tour in Kuwait with the California National Guard's 40th Combat Aviation Brigade.
