150929-N-BD107-146 ARABIAN GULF (September 29, 2015) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Jevar Clough, from Ocho Rios, Jamaica, gives the signal to lower an aircraft elevator in the hangar bay of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during a replenishment-at-sea with the Military Sealift Command fast combat support ship USNS Arctic (T-AOE 8). Essex is the flagship of the Essex Amphibious Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
