Marines from Security Cooperation Marine Air-Ground Task Force embarked onboard amphibious assault ship USS Wasp assist in filling and organizing backpacks with notebooks, crayons, pencils, rulers and teddy bears, among other items, in Wasp's Library Media Resource Center Nov. 7. The backpack stuffing is part of Wasp's efforts to distribute the 140 backpacks to children during its upcoming Project Handclasp events in Jamaica and Belize. Wasp is currently deployed on Southern Partnership Station-Amphib with Destroyer Squadron 40 and SCMAGTF. Southern Partnership Station is part of the Partnership of the Americas Maritime Strategy that focuses on building interoperability and cooperation in the region to meet common challenges.
