EDINBURG, Texas (Oct. 6, 2015) Waipahu, Haw., native, Senior Chief Navy Counselor Fesouaina Kaleopa, division leading chief petty officer, Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, speaks to high school juniors about leadership opportunities within the U.S. Navy during one of two breakout sessions hosted by the Navy during Student Leadership Day at the 2015 Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology Week (HESTEC) held on the campus of the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). Student Leadership Day is to inspire the next generation of Hispanic leaders in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). It is focused on the movement and impact which STEM fields will have in the future. HESTEC Week is an educational conference that features events geared towards promoting STEM education to people of all ages and backgrounds.
