On Friday, Maj. Lisa Jaster can add Ranger to her long list of accomplishments: mother, Marine Corps spouse, decorated combat veteran, Army Reserve officer, West Point graduate, and Shell Oil executive, to name a few. However, it wasn’t the moniker that was most important to the 37-year-old engineer – it was securing her children’s future. “I want the best tactically and technically proficient person standing next to my kids if someday they have to go to war,” she said. “I want the person standing to their left and right to be the most competent, not the best male.” (U.S. Army Reserve photo/Released)
