Col. John Peck, commanding officer of Headquarters and Service Battalion, rededicates the Iron Mike Monument Oct. 15, 2015, as part of the centennial celebration on Parris Island, S.C. The monument was originally dedicated to the Marines who trained on Parris Island and later died in World War I. Iron Mike, also know as the Monument to U.S. Marines, has stood on Parris Island as a reminder of sacrifice and duty since 1924.
