Spc. James R. Simpson, an armor crewman and Purple Heart recipient from El Paso, Texas, represents 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division "Highlander" participating in Multi-National Division South Soldier of the Quarter boards, Oct. 6. Simpson is assigned to C Company "Comanche" 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment. The Highlander Brigade -- the first unit to serve in an "advisory and assistance" role -- is deployed out of Fort Bliss, Texas and operates in Dhi Qar, Maysan, and Muthanna provinces in southern Iraq.
