U.S. Marines with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa practice landings MV-22B Ospreys at night aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), in the Mediterranean Sea, Oct. 19, 2015. SPMAGTF-CR-AF, based out of Morón, Spain, are a self-sustaining crisis response force prepared for the protection of American personnel and facilities on the African continent, when directed by U.S. Africa Command. USS Kearsarge is host to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit currently deployed to the 5th and 6th fleet areas of responsibility serving as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious operations across the full range of military operations.
