    40th Combat Aviation Brigade

    California Army National Guard Capt. Charles Escaleras, commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Task Force Longknife, 40th Combat Aviation Brigade, Lt. Col. Jeff Sibley, commander of Task Force Longknife, pilot a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter with crew chief Sgt. Rene Fragoso, and gunner Sgt. Nathan Wong from Company B on their orientation flight at Fort Hood, Texas, Oct. 15, 2015. Sibley and Escaleras were observing this site for sling load training. Sling load is when steel cables are used to carry suspended cargo from aircraft. The 40th CAB was training to deploy to Kuwait to support stability operations in 2016.
