GULF OF ADEN (Oct. 28, 2015) U.S. Marine Capt. John Garlasco fires an M45A1 .45 Cal pistol during a deck shoot aboard the USS Anchorage (LPD 23). Garlasco is the commanding officer of the Force Reconnaissance Detachment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Anchorage is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
