The Pentaceratops fossil from the Ah-she-sle-pah site was found to be immersed in a pool of water causing the extraction and sling load preparation to be particularly cumbersome for the Soldiers of New Mexico National Guard's 1st Battalion, 200th Infantry. They worked alongside members of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science and the Bureau of Land Management for more than nine hours to secure a cargo net around the fossil.
