151104-N-XN177-359 YOKOSUKA, Japan (November 04, 2015) Military working dog (MWD) Bery lunges at a simulated suspect while handler, Chief Master-at-Arms Jonathan Hidalgo, from Oceanside, Calif. holds on during training onboard Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka. The canines with the MWD unit are used to apprehend suspects and to detect explosives and narcotics while searching buildings, ships and submarines at FLEACT. FLEACT provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, 83 tenant commands, and 24,000 military and civilian personnel.
