    Armed with a Minimi, Airman (Soldado) Juan Manuel Sancho scans the surrounding area for danger, before deploying off the loading ramp of a C-130H Hercules at Kabul International Airport, Afghanistan. On 23 March 2006, he provided security force potection on this flight with the 31 Wing, Spanish Air Force, from Zaragoza Air Base, Spain, currently deployed to Manas International Airport, Kyrgyz Republic and receive support from the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing, Manas Air Base. Together they work to support security operations by participating in several key venues, with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). ISAF's primary role is to support the Government of Afghanistan in providing and maintaining a secure environment in order to facilitate the re-building of Afghanistan. ISAF integrates its efforts with the highest levels of authority at the Government of Afghanistan, with the United Nations Assistance Mission to Afghanistan (UNAMA), with the Combined Forces Command-Afghanistan, the US-led Coalition, and with other actors of the international community.
