Donegan, commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, U.S. 5th Fleet, Combined Maritime Forces, watches as a maritime enforcement training team, assigned to U.S. Coast Guard Patrol Forces Southwest Asia, conducts visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) training on base. U.S. Coast Guard ships work alongside naval vessels to conduct maritime security operations in the Arabian Gulf. U.S. maritime forces train with regional partners for the protection of key infrastructure nodes in the region. These key infrastructures form the foundation for much of the region’s economic growth, stability and prosperity, and can significantly impact the global economy.
