Cadre and other participants help motivate a fellow cadet finish the 12-kilometer ruck march event of the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge, in College Station, Texas, Nov. 11, 2015. They had to carry a 15-kg pack and complete the course in two hours or less. Texas A&M University cadets got the opportunity to earn the GAFB as a result of an exchange program the college has with Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg, Germany. This year, Texas A&M is host to two German Army officers who oversaw the test and made it possible for cadets and active duty soldiers in the local area to earn the coveted GAFB.
