SOUTH CHINA SEA (Nov. 9, 2015) U.S. Marines with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit stand ready to begin a ceremony celebrating the Marine Corps’ 240th birthday aboard USS Rushmore (LSD 47). The ceremony included a reading of Gen. John A. Lejeune’s birthday message and a cake-cutting to celebrate 240 years of tradition, service, and victory. The 15th MEU is currently deployed in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to promote regional stability and security in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
