Armstrong, the youngest Soldier with the 450th Civil Affairs Battalion with jump status, was the first to initiate a new tradition called "keeper of the wings." "Keeper of the wings" is a tradition unique to the unit that commemorates the first jump of the group's youngest Soldier.
