British Brig. Gen. Frazer Lawrence, 1st Armored Division deputy commanding general of operations, talks with retired Brig. Gen. Richard Behrenhausen, the first commander of Joint Task Force Six, now known as Joint Task Force-North, before his welcome ceremony at the 1st AD and Fort Bliss Museum, Nov. 23, 2015. As part of the ongoing effort between the U.S. and British militaries to strengthen interoperability and enhance the already strong alliance, the U.S. Army's 1st Armored Division officially welcomed Lawrence as its new deputy commanding general for operations. He is the first non-U.S. officer to hold this post. Lawrence has been in the post since Oct. 18, but today marked the division's official welcome to him and his wife, Jo, to the team. The ceremony was attended by military and civilian leaders from the region. Lawrence is one of only three British deputy commanding general's serving in U.S. Army units.
