An Italian Soldier provides security during the Advanced Medical First Responder course at the International Special Training Centre in Pfullendorf, Germany, Nov. 24, 2015. The course introduces special forces and soldiers from similar type units to a variety of trauma lifesaving techniques with the goal of immediate management of the injured patient and preservation of his life for the first three hours after incident with no other medical support. The International Special Training provides centralized training for NATO Special Forces and similar units in Europe. Soldiers from nine member nations - Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Turkey and the U.S. make up the current cadre of instructors at ISTC.
