PEARL HARBOR (Dec. 03, 2015) Quartermaster Seaman Recruit Soraya Boyce changes signal flags aboard Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) after mooring pierside at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Essex is the flagship of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (15th MEU), is nearing the end of a 7-month deployment to the 5th and 7th fleet area of operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and maritime security operations.
