The Eglin Air Force Base Honor Guard presents the empty bullet shells to Judy Haugen, the widow of retired Brig. Gen. Donald Haugen, during a memorial ceremony for retired Reserve Brig. Gen. Donald Haugen Dec. 5 at Crosspoint Methodist Church in Niceville, Fla. The 84-year-old Haugen, who passed away Dec. 1, was the first commander of a 919th designated unit assigned to Duke Field, the 919th Tactical Airlift Group. The designation still resides there today with the special operations Reserve unit, 919th Special Operations Wing, still resides there today. Many of the tactical airlift capabilities that began under his leadership are still part of the current 919th SOW mission. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Jasmin Taylor)
