151207-N-ON468-004 PEARL HARBOR (Dec. 7, 2015) Daniel Martinez, interment officer, National Park Service, reads a eulogy for retired Navy Lt. Cmdr. Joseph Langdell, the last surviving officer stationed aboard the USS Arizona during the Pearl Harbor attacks, who died at the age of 100 in February of this year. Langdell was one of the final surviving witnesses to the Pearl Harbor attacks before his death, and wished to be interred with his fellow shipmates on the USS Arizona. More than 2,000 guests including Pearl Harbor survivors and other veterans attended the National Park Service and U.S. Navy-hosted joint memorial ceremony at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument. This year's theme focuses on the road to reconciliation. (Photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Jeff Troutman/Released)
