Lt. Col. Matt Baker, commanding officer, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Brig. Gen. Lawrence D. Nicholson, commanding general, II Marine Expeditionary Brigade Afghanistan, walk past the Nawa governance center near Patrol Base Jaker which is currently undergoing renovations during Mullen's tour of the Nawa district center Dec. 17. Mullen visited Jaker and the Nawa district center to see the progress in the area since July's assault on Taliban forces and to meet with Marines of 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment.
