Cpl. Caitlin Pendergast, an avionics technician with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463, and a Lenoir City, Tenn., native, drags Sgt. Thomas Adams, a satellite operator with the communication section of 3rd Regiment, and a Lynn, Mass., native onto shore during an open water rescue drill at Davie Point beach aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Dec. 9, 2015. The Marine Corps Instructor Course of Water Survival students have to swim 500 yards to the victim and bring the victim to shore using a rescue tube. The course creates instructors who can train Marines to react and survive life-threatening situations in the water. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Zachary Orr)
