SSgt. Cherie Wright, Supply Chief with 2nd Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, Camp Lejeune, N.C., shows off her hairstyle, Dec. 16, which was recently approved by the Marine Corps. Her research and submission resulted in MARADMIN 622/15, which includes the authorization of both twist and lock hairstyles, benefiting many females in the Marine Corps. Twist and lock hairstyles consist of “sections of hair twisted to create a uniform ringlet or cordlike appearance”, according to the MARADMIN. Wright went through a long process of written proposals and oral presentations, to include briefing the commandant of the Marine Corps, before final approval from a uniform board.
