An Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., F-35 Lightning II sits on the Tyndall AFB, Fla., flightline Dec. 15 during the Checkered Flag 16-1 exercise. The F-35 is the U.S. Air Force’s latest fifth-generation fighter brings an enhanced capability to survive in the advanced threat environment.
