Private First Class Daniel R. Chavez, Platoon 1005, Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, stands at parade rest prior to graduation at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 18. Chavez is a Wildomar, Calif., native and was recruited out of Recruiting Station San Diego. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego.
