YOKOSUKA, Japan (Dec. 17, 2015) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) 2nd Class Kendsley Molinarodriguez, forward-right, from Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) 3rd Class Nate Culler, center, assemble a catapult deck tensioner on the flight deck of the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Catapult deck tensioners are used to hold aircraft in place as they prepare to launch by applying horizontal pressure. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
