Ioan Gaitan, 607th Materiel Maintenance Squadron, noncommissioned officer in charge of engineering support, was recently selected for Officer Training School, building upon an exemplary enlisted career. Gaitan couldn't have imagined this life when, nine years ago, he was randomly selected for a diversity immigrant visa allowing him to leave his home country of Romania and live, study and work freely in the United States.
