Japan Ground Self-Defense Force soldiers adjust their equipment between courses of fire during an unknown distance firing-range, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Jan. 26, 2016. Over the next several weeks JGSDF soldiers will be working with their U.S. Marine counterparts during Exercise Iron Fist, an annual bilateral training exercise that enables Japanese soldiers to train with Marines on American soil, to improve the planning, communicating, and conducting of combined amphibious operations.
