160127-N-YL073-118 GULF OF OMAN (Jan. 27, 2016) Gas Turbine System Technician (Mechanical) 2nd Class Natonya Groover, from Savannah, Ga., attached to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 4, coils an internal communications systems cord on the deck of a landing craft air cushion (LCAC) in the well deck aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). Kearsarge is the flagship for the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
