U.S. Marines with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion place guiding stakes along a path cleared by a Mine Clearing Line Charge during a breaching training exercise aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 4, 2016. As a part of Exercise Iron Fist, this training showed the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force soldiers our techniques, tactics and procedures for breaching large obstacles, to help facilitate the creation of a Japanese Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade in 2018.
