Cpl. Brittney Vito reads to students during a visit to Aikahi Elementary School on Feb. 9, 2016. By doing so, Vito, a combat correspondent with Marine Corps Base Hawaii’s Public Affairs Office and an Emmaus, Pa., native, forms and builds upon relationships with the students, helping to further form future generations. Reading to the students also allows the children to ask questions and interact with the Marines, serving to bridge the gap between civilians and the Marine Corps.
