Anna Villalpando, executive officer of the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18), helps her daughter make a Mardi Gras mask on the pier out side the ship before leaving for a routinely scheduled deployment. More than 4,500 Sailors and Marines from the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (13th MEU) departed San Diego today for a deployment to the 3rd, 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations.
