Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis Defreese, commandant of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, briefs members of the Malawi Armed Forces College about the academies mission and noncommissioned officer professional development courses it is in charge of. The delegation, Maj. Alfred L. Matambo, Officer Commanding Cadets Wing; Warrant Officer 1 Sally Mussa, 94th Brigade Command Sergeant Major; Warrant Officer 2 Ethel Banda, Sergeant Major Course senior instructor; Warrant Officer 2 Charles Mbewe, Sergeant Major Course coordinator; and Sgt. Maj. Jerryn McCarroll, U.S. Army Africa, visited USASMA in late January to get a first-hand look at the Army’s premiere institution for NCO development and to hopefully bring back some new ideas for their burgeoning senior NCO course.
