Chemical paratroopers from the 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade, react to a chemical laboratory during a practical exercise in level B containment suits, Feb. 8 – 11, 2016, as part of Exercise Dragon Forge, in preparation for Saber Junction 16. The paratroopers were able to conclude that the laboratory was being used to make homemade explosive device. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army’s Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deploying forces to the U.S. Army Europe, Africa and Central Command Areas of Responsibility within 18 hours.
