These two display cases in the 2d Cavalry Regiment Reed Museun on Rose Barracks, Vilseck, Germany, tell the story of Col. Charles Hancock “Hank” Reed, the 31st colonel of the regiment. Charles H. Reed was the most decorated of the World War II Cavalry Group Commanders. Although nominated for Brigadier General, in February 1949, he retired at his own request. He died on April 8, 1980. One month later, Col. Robert Wagner, 60th Colonel of the regiment, dedicated the museum in Ccolonel Reed’s name. Feb. 11, 2016.
