Camp Pendleton hosted the 71st Iwo Jima Commemoration Ceremony at the Pacific Views Event Center, Feb. 20. The Ceremony included a wreath laying, 21-gun salute, the playing of TAPS, a cake cutting ceremony, and a flag raising reenactment. The 71st Iwo Jima commemoration also included a tour of Camp Pendleton, tour of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, a memorial service and a reenactment of the historical flag raising over a three day period at various sites throughout Marine Corps Installations-West.
