Maintenance Airmen work on a KC-10 Extender from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., during operations at a non-disclosed base in Southwest Asia, Jan. 6. The KC-10 is one of Air Mobility Command's air refueling aircraft deployed to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility that provides the "global reach" for Air Force and Department of Defense aircraft through air refueling operations for Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom and the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. This KC-10 is assigned to the 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing.
