San Antonio Military Medical Center was recently recognized by the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program as a “Silver Certified Sleep Leader,” for their commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep. SAMMC is the first hospital in Texas to receive this recognition. The “sleep sack” is a one piece garment that helps keep newborns in a customary and comfortable sleep position and encourages parents to place babies on their backs on a firm surface free of obstruction.
