160223-N-ZZ999-346 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 23, 2016) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Apprentice Christopher Sagun, from Chicago, removes bolts from a manhole cover on a through-deck sheave on the flight deck of the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The through-deck sheave contains aircraft arresting gear which requires regular maintenance. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
