Sgt. Bryan T. McDonough Ave., on which both the Contingency Operating Base Basra, Iraq, fire station and Troop Medical Clinic are located, is named for a Maplewood, Minn., native who died Dec. 2, 2006 from injuries suffered in Al Anbar province, Iraq. One essential reason for the installation of street signs is to help first responders arrive quickly in case of an emergency on COB Basra.
