160225-N-EM227-035 (Feb. 25, 2016) YOKOSUKA, Japan – Senior officers and civilians from the U.S. and Japan Self-Defense Forces observe operations in the Command Information Center (CIC) of the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) before a tour of the ship. The tour on board Chancellorsville is part of the Fleet Synthetic Training-Joint (FST-J) exercise designed to improve the interoperability between the U.S. Navy and the Japan maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) in support of security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific.
