Petty Officer 2nd Class Stephen Flowers and Airman Martin Coffey, an aviation support equipment technician, cut the front of a flight deck scrubber prior to welding aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on a routine deployment to the region. Operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
