Lind was selected for the prestigious award as the district’s top-performing enlisted person for his proactive leadership while he was assigned to Joint Task Force GTMO Maritime Security Detachment in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as the lead petty officer for a 48-person team. His contributions factored into the unit’s successful 8,086 hours underway, more than 400 contacts of interest assessed and 2,366 passenger transports.
