The course is a two-week security-training program that provides the fundamentals of watchstanding and the use of weapons to Sailors. Mount Whitney, the U.S. 6th Fleet command and control ship, forward deployed to Gaeta, Italy, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. National security interests in Europe.
