Petty Officer 2nd Class Timothy Niitani, culinary specialist, pulls out mangroves at the Pouhala Marsh during a volunteer restoration project. Sailors from the Junior Sailor Association at Naval Station Pearl Harbor volunteered at the marsh, a wildlife sanctuary in Waipahu, Hawaii. Mangroves and pickleweed are two invasive species of vegetation overpopulating the sanctuary.
