The Sacagawea was one of three MPF ships that offloaded her cargo in support of Exercise Ssang Yong 16 (SY16), under the Exercise Freedom Banner 2016 (FB16) directive. Freedom Banner 2016, a Navy and Marine Corps deployment and offload/backload exercise that is nestled within SY16, brought multiple commands together to offload Maritime Prepositioning Force ships.
